SUMMARY

Eragon is a 15 year old boy who lives with him and his uncle Garrow and cousin Roran. The book Starts off when he finds a strange blue rock while searching the spine, which is a forest near his hometown Carvahall.Eragon thinks the rock could be worth something so his family can afford more meat for winter. Later that night the rock begins hatch while his family is attacked by a vicious group of non-human assasins called the Ra'zac.He is then saved by who he thought was just a crazy old man,Brom The Story Teller, who is actually an agent for a rebel group against the king Galbatorix who was sent to keep the egg safe from the king. Eragon learns that the egg was a dragon egg and beggins to raise the dragon who he named Saphira because of her blue skin. Eragon now must train his hardest to stay alive and uncover the mysterious past of his deceased mother, missing father,and why Saphira chose him.
